The EMMA test uses sensitive molecular detection technology to look for the presence of 10 of the most toxigenic molds. It determines their presence and determines their relative abundance. EMMA also tests directly for 16 of the most poisonous Mycotoxins using its patented Mycotoxin detection test.
Testing is simple, only requiring small amounts of dust or material from AC or heater filters. Instructions are provided with the pre-paid return kit that is sent to you upon order. Results will be sent to you within 10 business days from receipt of your sample.

Frequently Asked Questions
What about samples from the furnace filter if I do not have a forced air system with disposable filters?
Dust from any area of the residence/office will be fine, the reason we suggest the HVAC filter is that it is collecting dust from all areas that have return air ducting.
How many samples can I send?
Only three samples can be submitted for the test, if additional samples are submitted it would require separate test charges for another test.
Will this test pinpoint the exact location of the origination point for the molds and mycotoxins?
The test is not designed to find the origination point as the mycotoxins are so light and small that they will float throughout the structure. The design of the test is to determine if the molds and mycotoxins are present. Once this is found the next step is locating an environmental inspector for investigation of point of origin. The environmental business directory on the website lists companies that have done business with Realtime Laboratories.
Is there an acceptable level if activity is listed as present just barely above the level of detection.
No, any level above present should be inspected as the molds and mycotoxins may be in the beginning stages of growth.
